WATRIUM SUPPORTS CMR SURGICAL IN LARGEST EVER MEDTECH FINANCING ROUND

Watrium supports CMR Surgical in largest ever MedTech financing round

Watrium supports CMR Surgical in the 600m Series D funding round, the largest ever MedTech private financing round worldwide. The round was led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and co-led by Ally Bridge Group and will support the Company’s mission to make keyhole surgery accessible to more people worldwide. The funds will be used to increase the global commercialisation of Versius ®, CMR’s next-generation surgical robotic system, and further develop its digital ecosystem.

CMR Surgical is part of Watrium’s strategy of investing in health and tech enabled businesses. Watrium has supported CMR Surgical since entering in the Series A funding round in 2017 and followed up in the Series B and C funding rounds.

We take pride in our contribution of bringing Versius, CMR’s next-generation surgical robotic system, to market and are convinced that Vertus will make robotic keyhole surgery available to a global population, improving efficiency for surgeons, reducing strain on patients, freeing up hospital beds and overall transforming surgery for good.
