Watrium’s portfolio company Flexiteek, makers of the world’s leading synthetic teak boat decking ‘Flexiteek 2G’ and marine products, have opened a new factory in Poland.
Located in Ostróda, the factory is in the middle of the maritime cluster in Poland, with several OEM boat producers within short driving range. Once in full production, the facility will increase Flexiteek’s panel fabrication capacity for the OEM’s in Poland, OEM’s in North America and Flexiteek distributors in general. It will also be a base for standard training in Flexiteek production for new fabricators.
“The opening of the new factory in Ostróda will greatly improve our ability to service the OEM market with our products and services. This further strengthens Flexiteek as the globally leading maritime supplier of synthetic teak and fendering” says Tomas Gustafsson, CEO of the Flexiteek Group
Anders Christopher Wilhelmsen, founder and Chairman of the Flexiteek Group concludes “The opening of the new factory marks another important milestone in the development of Flexiteek as a global leader in its segment. When we started the company 20 years ago, we had the aim of revolutionizing the traditional decking market. Building on our strong heritage in shipping and an entrepreneurial spirit, the development for the group has been impressive. We now have over 100 talented distributors in 50 countries, over the years we have created nearly 100 000 Flexiteek islands worldwide and we are the preferred synthetic decking choice for renowned OEM’s like Royal Huisman, Hanse Group, Jeanneau Beneteau Group, Princess Yachts, Gulf Craft and Sunseeker International”
